Stories of Faith – San Francisco 49ers – Day 1

the 49ers are going after championship #6 on Sunday.

OK, you NFC fans, it is your turn.  I spent a couple days sharing stories of believers on the Baltimore Ravens,  and now we will cross over to the other sideline and take a look at some of the stories from the 49ers.  The 49ers go hunting for their NFL championship.

Colin Kaepernick – One of the amazing stories this season, not just on the 49ers but in the NFL.  Kaepernick won the starting job in a controversial way, and has not looked back or out of place as an NFL QB.  You can read about him in the blog post I wrote about him earlier this season.  You can also check out this article about him sharing the meanings of his many tattoos with fellow Christian NFLer Kurt Warner (and remember that I am giving away a Warner jersey at the end of this week – enter by commenting on or sharing this post).

David Akers – Akers is making his second trip to the Super Bowl.  He was on the short end of the score in 2004 as a member of the Eagles against the Patriots.  Now he is back as a member of the Niners.  Read this post that I wrote about him last season, and check out his “Kicks for Kids” foundation here

Daniel Kilgore – a Offensive Lineman for the 49ers, talks about being on the Appalachian State team that beat Michigan in Michigan a few years ago.  Click here to listen to a podcast about Kilgore with Sports Spectrum.  He talks about college ball, the move to the pros, and turning his live over to Christ.  It is a 43 minute podcast, but worth the time – good stuff.
